Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am a British exchange student, I am on a full year exchange, but did not get back in Canada until 15th Jan ¿¿15. Hence I only had one day to decide on my course choices for this semester. I had taken BIOL205 last semester and hoped to take BIOL206 this semester, however my grade in BIOL205 (D) was not high enough to meet the pre requisites (C-). I believe the reason for my grade being so low was due to personal problems I had been having last semester. Due to this Mary Marshall in the IPO office emailed the undergraduate chair for biology to see if this pre requisite could be overlooked, however this was not possible. I did not get the response to say that this was not possible until after 5pm on Friday 16th Jan and hence missed the deadline to pick another course. I also have had to liaise with my home university (Aberdeen) to find a suitable replacement course that they were happy with, hence the further delay.
