Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
I am writing this letter to request a transfer of courses. I am currently living off campus, and have been using my family members computers in order to work from home. I am enrolled in five courses this winter semester which include politics, philosophy, history, religion and film, as well as music. I am currently planning to graduate with a medial in Politics and Philosophy. With some background in music, I decided to take a music course (MUSC104) as an elective this semester, which I am currently spending more time on than my Politics and Philosophy courses. There is an introductory music course (MUSC114) which offers a more gradual approach to learning music theory and musical knowledge, that I was looking to swap into. I missed the academic deadline, because I decided was going to try and work hard at the course, but I am now swamped with work from a course I only chose as an elective. The music course I am looking to swap into is currently open with two spots. I understand I am at fault for the lack of responsibility in terms of the course add/ drop deadline. I also understand and have learned that I should either read the course information more carefully, or email the professor in advance to understand what the course is really offering. I am currently struggling to complete all my assignments on time, and request you consider allowing a course swap.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: In future studies, I will look more closely at the academic deadlines. I believe this unprecedented school year has inflicted confusion and stress upon all of us, and I am hoping you will take my appeal into consideration. I am currently taking quarantine as an opportunity to work hard in all my academic courses, and plan to keep working with a mindset of personal academic goals until graduation.
