Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am an international student from China, studied four-year high school in Ontario. When I graduated from high school, I planned to go back to China. However, the landing board was all closed, and the air company cancelled my flight ticket at the time. I was already 18, so I got an email from my high school Guardianship that I could no longer live with my homestay, although they wanted me to stay. So I moved out, found a place where I could live with the house owner in a hurry, and my first-year university began.
Everything was all good until there was another person moved in. There was no WiFi in her room at first(my room was fine), so the house owner bought an extender and placed it in between me and my roommate's bedrooms. After a few days, the WiFi in my room was broken. I told the house owner about these, she also tried to fix it, but nothing worked. At that time, it was around the middle of October in 2020. I could not load any of my website pages, even my OnQ. I was pretty anxious. Under the house owner's suggestion, I let my teachers know about this situation. Still, I got a reply email that said to Appeal all my courses by this website, which is useless because I cannot load a webpage. After a month, the WiFi in house was fine, but my laptop and iphone were still unable to connect it stable. I failed all my fall term courses except psycology due to this reason. Until December, I moved to Kingston and the WiFi here is good to use. I tried to keep on with my courses, but finding resources are much more complicated than I thought. Also, I had no idea whether I should go back home to China. So I booked a meeting with my academic advisor around the middle of April. She suggested I should still try to appeal these F marks from my transcript because the situation was out of my control.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My idea is to retake two of my first-year courses this summer and gap half of my next semester to go back home if possible. Return to school when I am ready to reset, as well as the Covid is under control. So things in my plan are going to be like this: during this summer, I am going to retake two of my courses and make sure their grades are good; then fly back to China to reset; after half of the year, when it is Jan. 2022, I return and keep studying.

Amendment to Appeal 7666
Relevant Petition: 7666
New Information: Hi,
I am sorry that I would like to add another course to this appeal. The course is KNPE 125, which I enrolled in in the winter 2021 semester. The reason that I would like to add this course to appeal is the grade for this course is the same as others which I appeal before. The grades of the whole year are significantly lower than my exception. During the pandemic, there is a severe psychological problem that I suffered for a long time. Meanwhile, as an international student, I have moved three times in the last academic years and experienced extenuating circumstances like discrimination from roommates, internet collapse, and depression. This series of things are beyond my control and have an adverse impact not only on my study but also on my psychological health.
Thank you for all the understanding and help.
All in best,
Jingyi Huang
