Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am writing to appeal to be able to register late in the 6 unit course of MATH 121 for the Summer 2021 term.

My delay in adding this course stems from two factors. Course grades from the 2020 Winter semester were delayed within my faculty and I was unsure of my graduation status pending these marks. As such I was not planning on taking MATH 121 this term, but ultimately received a failing grade in the course. Being the last course required for my graduation requirements I intended to re-take this course this summer.

However this process of enrolling was also negatively impacted by my move from the Kingston area to a more remote locale north or Peterborough, where the second factor negatively influencing my enrollment on time occurs. Service for both cellular and wired internet is at times unreliable in a remote locale, which was the case in the latter days of the week past, being the days of May 13th and 14th.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 conditions, I was unable to leave my home to seek reliable network connections, and when I was able to repair my home wireless connection the deadline had since passed.

It is my sincere wish to be able to take this course and finish my degree this summer.

All the best,
Michael C Stevens

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: From this course I am familiar with the time commitment required as well as the material there-in. Lectures and material are readily available both via OnQ as well as YouTube, and catching up on a week or two of material is certainly achievable given several extra hours time to get back on schedule. Given my recent move and continued job search during the provincial lockdown, I foresee no reason I won¿¿t have time available to accomplish this.
