Petition Letter: Hello, I hope this message finds you well.
As you can see, I have endured many personal difficulties upon starting university in Fall 2017, which also explains my brief absence before returning in Fall 2020. I have been recovering from personal trauma and mental health hinderances and upon returning for this academic year, I have completed and achieved more course work successfully than at any point in my university career up to this point. I have done much better given the internal circumstances, and despite the external circumstances (being an international student, and a student from Lebanon, my home country is currently facing its most severe economic crisis yet). Due to these factors, though, I have been unable to complete the course work of one of my five courses for the Winter 2021 term: MUTH 111. I have completed 2/5 successfully with a B and B+, and am in process of finishing the others up by the start of July and am doing so confidently. My professors (namely Dr. Walker), QSAS advisor Mr. Jay Harris, and Ms Barbara Lotan, are all faculty members that can confirm my extenuating circumstances that led to this failing grade in this particular course.
