Petition Letter: Dear Associate deans,
I am writing this letter to appeal a requirement to withdraw from Queen's University. I received an academic standing letter a few days ago. Also, I would like to take the opportunity to explain my circumstance and entreat a case for restoration for next semester. I am sure that I will show my regular academic performance if you give me a second opportunity. Thank you for permitting me the chance to explain my circumstance.
I was in Japan when I took courses last semester. Then, there were time lags, and it made my semester difficult a lot. I took classes from 3 am to 6 am, and I went to sleep until noon. After that, I studied, and I went to a part-time job until 10 pm. Up to classes began, I did homework. I did it almost everyday. My typical sleep pattern had changed. I was up most of the night and slept much of the day. I became I got tired and headache quickly. In addition, maintaining motivations was complicated for me at that time. This environment was not suitable for studying. I quitted my part-time job, but my health condition is entirely terrible. However, I didn't realize that, and I believed I could pass all courses. As a result, I had a poor GPA. After I got my scores, I realized I had to ask professors, advisors or friends for their advice. I was too confident with myself. That was a huge mistake not to ask for advice from somebody.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I've gotten an award for my mind from this experience. I am just an English learner so that, I should not be overconfident with myself, and I plan to take three courses next semester because I had five courses last semester. It was pretty hard for me. In addition, I'm going to retake philosophy or psychology. I took psychology the previous semester. So that, Retaking the course is a better choice for me. That's why I'm going to do it. I will do my schoolwork reasonably, and besides, I will speak to professors or advisors actively if I need some bits of help. Then, I noticed I should control my health condition. I think one of the biggest reasons for my poor grades is my health condition. I want to manage my health condition, which is included in mental health. During summer, I plan to connect with a therapist during the summer, or when I return to campus, I would like to connect with Queens Student wellness services. Moreover, I will sleep enough, get some sun every day and so on for staying healthy. I'll be sure to do everything that I can do. Last semester was very uncommon for me. I plead with you to provide me with another chance to take courses next semester At Queen's University.
Respectfully,
Mami Maruyama.

New Information: This is a supporting document for Mami.
Mami requested me to write about her environment and what was going on during the last academic year. I thought she did well on her academic things, but she told me that she could not. I guess she had a difficult time schedule for her day, for example, she had class at 3 or 4 am, then, she worked, a part-time job. That was too much for her to succeed for the academic and quality of life. Therefore, she was mostly depressed due to her daily schedule. And I would like to give mental health support like giving advice and taking her to mental health services. I will give my best to support her as her family.
I am sure that she can make improving her academic result in the future, so if possible, I want you to permit her to re-try and re-start.
Thank you, from her family
