Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean
Unfortunately, I have had a negative experience in my Genders 280 class this year. I have struggled in the class and have not received clear instructions or assistance from my professor in my efforts to improve. The professor is unresponsive and difficult to communicate with which has hindered my ability to do well in the course.
After my last communication with the professor, I decided that I needed to drop the course in order to protect my GPA. Considering my grades in my other courses, this is the best decision as a student.
Last week I had to fly to Vancouver urgently for a family emergency and I missed the drop date for this course. I have provided documentation regarding this. As a result, I am requesting to drop the course, after the drop-date without further or additional repercussions. Thank you for your time.
