Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I enrolled in the course Oceanography (GEOL 200) for the July-August Summer term. Before the last date of dropping summer courses for that term I attempted to drop the course. I did not engage in that course at all or SOLUS/OnQ for the remainder of the summer as I believed that I had dropped the course as intended.

When course selection then came up I still had unpaid fees in my student account (Bradley Fraser, student 20184970). It had then come to my realization that I had not dropped the course as I had intended.

As I have a hold on my account of well over 500 I am left very frustrated. As I intended to and fully well did through SOLUS drop this course I am left with a fail and a hold left on my account for a course I did not engage in because I was led to believe by the SOLUS prompt that it had been dropped successfully. I have since paid the remainder of this hold on my account as I needed to be able to pick my courses for this upcoming semester. I do not wish to have to suffer due to the errors of SOLUS and an online system.

I have contacted the professor of this course who has been able to attest that I did not participate in this course. That is because I had no intention of being in it. I hope that with this appeal the course could be dropped from my record.
