Petition Letter: I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder in March. My cognitive function decreased and I lost the power to do many things, so I had to stop my study. Actually, I had the symptoms of depressive disorder in the 2019 winter and 2020 winter, but I did not realize it at that time. After I was diagnosed, I took medicine and tried to control my actions which lead to depressive moods like rumination. My situation was somewhat improved at the end of April. Then I sent e-mails o QSAS. The instructor suggested me do the late drop. I did not want to drop all my courses at that time. Because the tuition fee was very high, I was afraid of facing my parents with the situation of dropping all my courses.
I contacted professors, asking for the extension of course works, but professors thought it was too hard to follow up so they refused me. Then my QSAS Intake Coordinator told me to rebook an appointment and do the late drop. However, because of my depressive disorder, all my things were delayed. Now my situation is much better, I would like to apply for the late-drop, thank you
