Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am making the request to switch to the remote version of a current course I am enrolled in: ECON 351. This course is being offered this semester in two versions, 002 which is the in person delivery, and the one I am currently taking, and 001 which is the remote version of the course.

As an international student who had to leave Canada at the beginning of Canada, there were a lot of complications that came with that, and difficulties I faced moving on after this. Because of this, my father has asked me to make this request in case the current COVID circumstances change. I am currently enrolled in 5 courses, 4 of which are being delivered remotely, which is why by making this change to section 001 of this course, I will find myself ready for anything that may come up, weather that means I must return to my home country, or if I am diagnosed with COVID, or whatever the circumstance may be. But given I am taking at least one course in person, I must be on campus for the duration of the semester no matter what.

I have contacted the undergraduate department of economics with this request, and asked for permission to make this switch by explaining my current situation, they have approved the switch, however, given this was done after the deadline to add courses, the registrar's office told me that I can only do this through an academic appeal. I will upload the documentation that provides you with the proof of the email they sent, and I hope you consider my request.
