Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean/Professor,
I have started to feel very sick at the beginning of October 2021. I was throwing up and I was not able to keep anything down. I consulted with my doctor and I was diagnosed with gallstones. Since my gallbladder did not look too inflamed at that time and due to the COVID situation I was not eligible for surgery. I was trying to keep up with my studies and assignments and I did my best not to drop the courses. I was suffering terrible abdominal pain almost constantly and I was severely dehydrated because of the vomiting which made not only my studies but my daily life almost impossible. My situation was worsening but I had faith I could overcome the illness (I really tried)although it was clear this situation was not going to solve spontaneously. Finally, my doctor decided it was very dangerous to keep waiting and I went for surgery on November 9th, 2021. After the surgery, I was not getting better and I was diagnosed with a hospital infection. Up to the day of the surgery, I was trying to keep focused on school and I thought I was going to be able to. But I got so behind with assignments etc, that I knew I had to drop the courses. I am recovering now after an extensive and strong antibiotic therapy for the postop infection. It is my intention to return to school for the winter term.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Brenda Watman
