Petition Letter: Hello, my name is Dong Huyn Gwag (10017939).
I am asking to be dropped out of BIOL316. I know it is very late into the term to be dropped out of a class, but I was not able to my my decision before the deadline that is indicated on Solus. I was given back my midterm exam mark on March 25th, which is after the deadline for dropping courses. At the time of the exam I was expecting a grade of around 80, but the mark was well below my expectation. I believe that a student should be given a chance to make a decision to stay or leave after experiencing a part of the class. I am not saying that the course material or the professor was problematic. I think it is too late for me to be successful in the class with the grade receive on the midterm, and that grade was given back to me at a period that was too late for me to make a decision to leave the class.
