Petition Letter: Hello,
I am appealing to add LLCU214 (Winter 2022) past the deadline. I was previously enrolled in the class, but dropped it on the last day (January 24, 2022). In doing so, I went from full-time student status to part-time, which will result in legal repercussions that I did not previously anticipate. I am hereby requesting to rejoin LLCU214 to mitigate any future legal issues, as they have not yet taken effect.
I was originally enrolled in 3 classes, but only dropped LLCU214. I added the class out of interest and passion, but dropped it simply because it would not impact my graduation time, and not due to external pressure. My other 2 classes are graduation requirements and hence, I am continuing my studies in those courses.
Since I was enrolled in the class for 2 weeks, with no real intention initially to drop it, I have detailed and concise notes leading into week 3. Additionally, I have the textbook and syllabus, so during the transition period, I can catch up on the readings and block off my time to watch lectures once everything is confirmed. As a full-time student in the future, I will no longer have any pressing legal issues and I will dedicate my time to performing well in all my classes.
Finally, I have support from the professors (Professor Donato Santeramo and Professor Antonio Nicaso) to re-join the class past the deadline. Re-obtaining full-time student status will drastically change my life going forward, hence my appeal to devote my time and effort once again to LLCU214.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am a 4th year computing student, specializing in cognitive science and completing a certificate in business. I am on track to graduate next May in 2023. After a term of part-time studies, I am requesting to return to full-time studies, and continue as a full-time student until graduation. I have not encountered any academic challenges, and this appeal is due to legal issues that I did not anticipate. Moving forward, I want to rejoin LLCU214, be a full-time student and mitigate my current concerns.
I did not have issues with the LLCU2124 course content. I joined the course because I found the topics taught to be extremely interesting and heard amazing feedback from past students. Aside from my innate desire to succeed academically, my passion for this class will drive me to perform well. I will admit that at the peak of a busy semester, I would find it hard to balance academics with the various campus clubs and organizations. However, I have taken note of my shortcomings and only joined one club this term.
To summarize, I have planned out every remaining class required for graduation and I am currently on track to complete all those requirements by May 2023. Rejoining class will mitigate legal concerns that require me to be a full-time student, and I apologize for the inconvenience of this appeal. I did not previously anticipate this issue, but I recognize that dropping a class that I thoroughly enjoyed might have caused potential lasting damage to my future.
