Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I was on academic leave with extenuating circumstances for nearly five weeks starting January 18th. This is due to a traumatic situation that occurred and being hospitalized for mental health related reasons. Due to this, I have found it extraordinarily difficult to resume and catch up with all of the work that I missed. There is essentially no way I will be able to pass these courses, and I believe that it would be an incorrect representation of my ability and intelligence to have these courses as failed on my transcript. I did my best to catch up, however, there is simply not enough time in the day for me to submit everything I need to for five courses, and trying will likely result in the downfall of my mental health once again. I have already acknowledged that I will need to take an extra year, and continue with a general study next year, and the remaining courses are the only ones I need to take in order to follow my path plan. I have supporting documentation from my M.D regarding the circumstances I went through, as well as my therapist. I am requesting that these courses be removed from my transcript, and dropped from my course list.
