Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Due to an increase of family and mental health issues, my ability to focus on this course was greatly affected. I have been dealing with financial stress (since I pay for everything myself and do not have any financial support), and have been dealing with other issues related to the mental health of a close family member. This has made it difficult to do well in all of my classes, but especially this one since I already struggle with math and get extreme anxiety when I try to do it. I am the first to go to University in my family so this is very important to me to not only do well, but get my degree. Having the added stress of not knowing how this course will affect my grade on top of the stress I already have been struggling with, is extremely difficult.
