Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing the following grades:
1.Questions 11 and 15 of the Multiple Choice Quiz. Grade assigned April 7, 2022
2. Presentation 2 Grade assigned April 17, 2022
3. Participation Grade assigned April 15, 2022
Please note that I prepared detailed memos setting out my reasons for appealing each of these grades and sent those memos to the Instructor on April 20, 2022. Attached to this appeal are the memos detailing my basis for appeal (they are the same memos as sent to the professor except I corrected the course code).

Although I sent my requests to the instructor on April 20, asking that he explain his marking and reconsider the marks, I have received no response from him.

This Instructor has demonstrated clear bias toward me and it would not be appropriate for him to have any involvement in this appeal. Prior to the Instructor assigning the marks for the Presentation 2 grade and the Participation grade, I had to complain about the Instructor as he responded inappropriately to my documented medical absence and violated the Ontario Human Rights Code and PHIPA. He persisted in this behavior even though I brought it to his attention that his conduct was inappropriate. I had to contact Academic Consideration who involved Dr. Stephenson and Dr. Stephenson engaged the Dean. Intervention at the administrative level was required to ensure that I received appropriate accommodation. As the memos I prepared detail, this Instructor's marks for my Participation and Presentation 2 mark are not only unfair, they do not accord with his rubrics and the syllabus. I believe this reflects his bias.

This Instructor has yet to grade my final paper.
