Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to you to waive the requirement to withdraw for one year. During the fall semester, I was up to date on all my academics but, I experienced unexpected, extenuating circumstances which affected my schoolwork during the winter term. During the winter semester, I got involved in a toxic and abusive relationship that affected my mental and physical health. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder as well. It was extremely hard for me to be motivated and keep my focus on anything as I was in a toxic environment where I was constantly belittled. I had pushed everyone close to me away so I was alone and didn??t know what to do. I still tried as hard as I could to work on my studies and all my assignments, I did submit I achieved good grades.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I have also talked to an Academic Advisor, and they helped me come up with an Academic plan. I have also asked my instructor for course HIST 109 if I can move forward with an incomplete grade or if I can drop the course. I am also taking two summer history courses which I have been very engaged in and working on every day. If I receive an incomplete grade or drop HIST 109, my GPA will hopefully become higher. Again, I have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and have since been receiving treatment. I have also removed myself from my toxic relationship and I am working on myself through therapy. I am also planning to work in the coming school year and am determined to work hard. I am a good student and just got wrapped into a bad situation. Also, the university being completely in person has also helped me a lot as online school didn??t help with my situation. I hope I have convinced you that I can move forward with my academics this year. Thank you so much.
