Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop MUSC 171 (Summer, 2022) and to have it not appear on my transcript. This is due to getting COVID 19, as well as extenuating circumstances relating to my QSAS accommodation. I was ill with COVID last week (Week of My 29) which is why I did not know I needed to drop this course before the drop date on Friday June 3rd. Once decided to drop the course, I attempted to do so on June 4th, only to realize the deadline was the previous day. Due to the fast-paced nature of the condensed 6 week course and not being able to complete work due to being ill, I will not be able to catch up and complete the course. Further, the circumstances within my long term QSAS accommodation have been heightened by this situation and will hinder me from completing this course. MUSC 171 is the only course I am enrolled in this semester. The course is an elective to simply get ahead for future years, and I do not need it for my major. Thank you for the consideration.
