Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom it May Concern:

I??m appealing to have an extension of an incomplete grade for Stat 466 from the fall semester. I struggled greatly throughout the semester due to depression that in turn caused insomnia, fatigue and lack of motivation. I was not able to keep up with the coursework. I reached out for help from my doctor, counsellors, and Queen??s student accessibility services. With this knowledge I appreciate that Professor Day granted me an incomplete for the course with the intention that I could complete it this summer.

I was able to successfully complete a full course load in the winter term while working through my mental health issues. Both Professor Andrew Day and the department Chair of Undergrad Studies, Dr. Peter Taylor support this extension appeal. I hope to complete this course in order to graduate in August and continue into the Concurrent Education program.

I hope you will take all of this into consideration while making your decision.

Thank you,
Amy Van Nest
