Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing this letter for the purpose of requesting a late drop from my attendance from all courses in Winter 2022. These include: CISC 204, PHIL 151, and ECON 280.

To my best knowledge, as records show, the last day which I submitted work for any of these courses was February 16th, 2022. I did not submit a course drop through conventional means as I did not know how to proceed. In April 2022, I submitted an incorrect academic appeal, which was declined intentionally, as after discussion with an advisor, I was directed to submitting a late course drop before September 15th, 2022.
The purpose of stopping coursework in early February was due to mental limitations and difficulties with my general pursuits in life following COVID-19 lockdowns. I have been battling mental difficulties throughout the last few months and finally have come around during my time off from school to try and get my academic pursuits back in line.
I am confident in the 2022 Fall semester that I can return full time to my studies and take a full-time course load. However, with three courses that I did not complete in the 2022 Winter semester and their ramifications on my academic pursuits I am in dire need of their removal from my transcript.
In conclusion with this late course drop request for Winter 2022, I hope that it can be viewed that I did not intend on completing my courses due to mental health issues, and with prior knowledge I would have been able to drop the courses before the drop date with no academic penalties.
