Appeal Letter

Appeal Letter: Dear Board of Studies,

Regarding ??While your appeal does make reference to some challenges during the
academic year, there are insufficient circumstances and documentation
presented to support reasons why you missed the 21 day appeal deadline?, I would like to explain why I missed the 21 day appeal deadline.

As in the email conversations attached here, I first submitted my appeal via email to the Art&Sci Faculty Office on June 13th. On June 14th I received the reply from the office which asked me to submit my appeal through Queens online appeal system (see my first submission and the replied email in the attachment ??RE: Appeal to Associate Dean for the Academic Withdrawal.eml?). I then uploaded my appeal on June 14th as instructed and thought the submission successfully went through.

I waited for 21 days but did not receive a decision. So I called the Ast&Sci Faculty Office on July 6th (613-533-2470) to follow up. A gentleman told me the system did not show an appeal record under my name or student number and asked me to resubmit it. I did not realize that my submission did not go through until I made this phone call. Then I resubmitted my appeal on the website with the exact same content on July 7th and received an automatic confirmation email noting that my submission was successful this time (see attachment ??Appeal Received.eml?). However, I did not include any additional explanations regards to ??missing the 21 day deadline? in this submission because I thought it was already explained during the phone call as well as in my email sent to ASC Appeals (asc.appeals@queensu.ca) on July 9th after my second submission (see attachment ??Re: appeal submit failed.eml?).

Overall, there was a confusion when I made my first submission through the website on June 14th, and I did not realize this mistake until I made the phone call on July 6th. With my strong desire to continue my study at Queens in Fall 2022, I would be grateful if you could reconsider my appeal to waive the one year withdrawal based on my situation of missing the 21 day deadline.

Please advise me if any further conversations could be helpful to my case. Thank you so much for your time

Best regards,

Xuying
