Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Shanglin Li (20079208), I will be in my fourth academic year in September this year. Due to the current COVID-19, my hometown often faces lockdown by government administration. In addition, my visa is about to expire and I will also be in my country this summer to renew my visa, which may also take two to three months. It makes me very worried that I may not be able to return to Canada for my studies properly in September this year. I currently have 5 elective courses to complete, but our school's online classes this fall do not meet my current needs, for example, some courses require offline exams and I may not be able to return to school in time to take exams. So I would like to apply to the ILOP program this fall semester and complete the five electives in my home country to minimize the risk of delays in my studies. I have presented the issues I am facing to my undergraduate chair and have received a statement of support from him. I sincerely hope that my worrying will be understood by you, and I appreciate it truly

Academic Plan: Dear Associate Dean,
If my application is approved, I will make an application to University of Shanghai for Science and Technology for the fall session. In my fourth year of study, I will complete five elective courses at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and I plan to choose Japanese 101,102 and Religion 101,102, and Philosophy 110 as my ILOP courses for the fall semester. I plan to get my new visa later this fall semester and return to Kingston to complete winter classes on campus before winter classes begin.
