Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am Victoria DiCristofaro. Thank you for allowing me to explain my circumstances. I am writing to you with hopes that you understand my issues. I have been wondering for the past month why I have not received any emails about course selection and specific dates. I??ve called and emailed the school this past month to only find out this week that the school has asked me to withdrawal for 1 year.
I was blindsided as I have never received one email informing me that I was even on academic probation. An academic advisor told me that she was able to see that the email was sent to me, however, it never came up in my emails. Without the email I was not able to view the deadline for the 21-day appeal.
I understand how hard this is to believe, but I was also in disbelief when I received this news yesterday. I was confused, not only did I not receive any emails, but throughout the school year not one teacher reached out to inform me I was not meeting the academic standards, nor an academic advisor. I also did not receive anything in the mail, as I know other Universities provide a second means of communication for something as important as this.
If there was an email sent to me about having to withdrawal wouldn??t the University expect me to respond? If an email was sent to me, I assure you that I would??ve responded promptly, as well as made an effort to hire a tutor to maintain a higher GPA.
COVID-19 did affect my learning and I will go into greater detail if you grant me the opportunity to move forward with this appeal.
