Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: On May 24th, a domestic situation occurred which has caused me to be displaced since then. This situation has been incredibly taxing and I??ve been unable to work on academics consistently. During this time, I have been moving back and forth between family, not able to find anywhere long term at the moment. Since this situation occurred, I reached out to my professor Carolyn and the academic consideration to receive the necessary accommodations needed to complete the course work. I spoke to my doctor regarding the psychological toll the situation has taken on me, to try and bounce back, but unfortunately I??m still dealing with the many stressors of this situation and ultimately, am unable to allocate time for academics.

I have had to pick up additional work shifts to financially support my mother and I during this time, moving back and forth between places and shouldering the stress of this situation for my family. This has had a huge effect on my mental health as well. I've tried my best to complete this course, this was not my first decision. I do apologize to Carolyn and the academic consideration team for their generosity during this time. I am unsure when a resolution is to come, I wish I was able to finish but ultimately will need to withdraw.
