Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am requesting in this appeal, the ability to drop without consequence, the course HIST 401.
In a series of unfortunate circumstances i was unable to attend many of the seminars for HIST 401 due to personal/mental health reasons and ongoing illness. because of the building nature of this courses work and the importance of participation on the grade received for this class, my instructor, Erin Gallagher-Cohoon has suggested that I request to drop this class for my own wellbeing so as not to further distress myself or overextend myself trying to catchup in the last few weeks of class. She fully supports the decision to drop the course and in fact suggested it to me in my best interest, preferably without a fail on my transcript because of my extenuating circumstances (for which i have a doctors note) and I am sure would be more than willing to speak with whomever needs her to corroborate my information. I would greatly appreciate the understanding from who it may concern as the circumstances were not in my control and i know Professor G-C does not wish for me to suffer as a result of it all. Thanks
