Petition Letter: 11-25-2022
To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I needed to drop one of my courses this year SOCY 275 with Professor Stephen Baron. The date that I dropped this was October 23, 2022. I have received a letter from my psychologist, but I am still awaiting one from my professor.
I have been in communication with Professor Baron on October 23, 2022, followed up on November 9th and in our last email Professor Barron requested some more information on what he was required to write on my behalf for the dropped course. Today, I followed up with another email to inquire about the letter.
Someone very close to me has been at the end of their life with terminal cancer these past few months and I was needed to step in as a caregiver. This role unfortunately had me pull away from my studies mid semester. This past weekend she passed away which is why it has taken me so long to also submit this paperwork. I apologize for this.
I am already on a reduced courseload as I was temporarily lost my vision in my first year at Queen??s as was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder. The stress and worry along with being a caregiver has flared up this condition causing migraines.
I realized that I needed to drop my course after the drop deadline, my hope was to be able to manage through it. I am wondering if you would consider a course refund so that I can pick up this course in the summer months.
