Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I would like to switch from ECON 110 to ECON 111, as one is full-year and the other is half-year for the same course content. Economics was only my elective and it took me a while to realize it was not for me. My quiz grades have been slowly declining to a humiliating degree, which caused me to struggle both mentally and academically. The deadline to drop classes was simply not enough time for me to make a decision fast, since I thought I was doing well in the earlier stage.
Even when I tried to switch to ECON 111, there was miscommunication from the economics department that I would not need to take any action. They told me that if I were to drop the winter-term portion of the ECON 110 course, my fall term would automatically change to ECON 111 and I would get credit for that instead (I will attach photographic evidence of this). I have made it this far into the fall term, and so it would be greatly appreciated if I could keep my progress for this part of the course by switching to ECON 111, but take a more enjoyable elective next term.
