Petition Letter: I am writing an appeal to obtain an International Letter of Permission to study abroad in the Winter semester of 2023. I have been accepted into the Sotheby's Institute of Art Study Abroad in London program, which is run in partnership with the University of Manchester (courses will be accredited to the University of Manchester). At Sotheby's, I will be taking a full course load of Art History courses that have been approved by Professor Russel Corbet, the undergraduate chair of art history and conservation. This program will be give a unique experience that I could not have at Queen??s as I will be visiting museums around London and the UK and seeing the artwork up close. Additionally, I will be learning about the art market from professionals at Sotheby??s auction house who have worked in the business their entire lives.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: During my time at Sotheby??s I would receive 60 UK credits, which is equivalent to 15 credits at Queen??s; keeping me on track for my degree. These courses would satisfy the remaining courses I need to finish my minor. I plan to take only the remaining Global Development courses I need in 4th year in order to stay on track with my degree.
