Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: In the Fall of 2021, I had enrolled in PSYC 251 Winter term after a lengthy leave from my studies. In January of 2022 our family of 8 all came down with Covid, and upon our recovery, we found out that my Dad was gravely ill with an unprecedented aortic aneurysm. I spent upwards of a month in Toronto at Sunnybrook while my father was on life support following his operation. It was during this time that I contacted Queens via phone as I did not have my login information, nor my computer with me to inform them that I was unable to partake in the class. Upon returning from Toronto, we learned that one of our daughter's was violently sexually assaulted. Our focus was entirely on our daughter and my father, and subsequently, I did not further contact the university. I am requesting an appeal to drop this course so that I can continue to pursue this degree. Please note that I did not attend any of the lectures pertaining to this class.
