Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request to drop an additional course past the course drop date.
I was previously granted permission to drop HIST 246 and RELS 250. I appealed at the same time to QSAS to attempt to salvage my FILM 240 course by being able to submit work past the deadline. Unfortunately, that request was denied.
I am now respectfully submitting this request to drop my FILM 240 course on the same basis as HIST 246 and RELS 250, which was a recent diagnosis of ADHD, outlined in the letter below which was submitted as part of this earlier request
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you for your consideration,
Michael Selby

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request to drop courses past the course drop date.
I am currently enrolled in second year. Through my first year and more dramatically in my second year I struggled to maintain my course load.
This fall I began formal testing to determine a suspected learning disability. On November 10th, I received a diagnosis of ADHD. (Please see the attached letter from Dr. Currie explaining the diagnosis.)
Throughout this term I attempted and was hopeful that I could salvage my courses and get on top of my work but failed to do so and, as a result, ended up missing the course drop deadline.
I am requesting to drop:
HIST 246
RELS 250
In consultation with my doctor, I will be investigating in the coming weeks medication and coaching in the coming months to help me learn how to be successful with this condition.
I plan on taking a reduced course load next term and my expectation is that by my third year, I will be back on track, I look forward to successfully completing my degree at Queens.
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you for your consideration,
Michael Selby
