Hope this letter finds you well.
My name is Lingjie Kong and my student number is 20260304. I am writing you this letter because I want to apply an appeal to extend my Chem 281's 'IN' grade to next term as I need to complete my final exam for this course in June. I have had a very bad health condition since the 13th, it lasted for several days and made me have no ability to complete the exam that happened last Saturday. I have explained the situation to my professor, and he told me that I need to submit an appeal with the faculty, so now I want to explain the situation to you. The situation is that when I got up that day, I felt a very terrible pain in my stomach and it further resulted in sour regurgitation and vomiting. It made me break out in a cold sweat and went to the washroom constantly for all day. When Saturday came, these symptoms became more severe, and I identified that my health condition can't support me to do the exam, so I went to see the teacher who regists students to the exams and told him the situation, and then contacted my professor this week based on what the teacher told me. When I talked with my professor, he told me that I need to submit an appeal to extend my 'IN' grade to the next term so that I can have the chance to complete my final exam for the course in summer successfully, that is the reason why I wrote this letter. I know that I should submit this appeal earlier, but I think my situation is excusable, actually I have contacted the clinic and have told them what I felt on last Friday, but today is actually the day that I get the chance to see the doctor and tell her my situation, because the only choice for me to make the appointment is to do a phone appointment as I have no family doctor and had no energy to do walk-in appointment at the time when I made the appointment, and they are very busy, they can only set my phone appointment today due to their schedule. That's why I just submitted this appeal and why I just got the doctor's note today, hope you can understand. Please help me because this course is really important to me.
