Dear Daniel Feng,

I have carefully considered your request to waive the Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for One Year and to drop MATH 121 (FW25/26) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your petition, I have decided to grant your request. Your final grade in MATH 121 (FW25/26) will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript once this has been processed by the Office of the University Registrar. You may now resume your studies at Queen’s University.

I will also allow you to drop ARIN 100, COGS 100, MATH 112 (W26) and PHIL 111 (FW25/26) after the academic deadline. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 10 business days.

As you continue in your studies, please remember to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on your classes prior to the drop deadline of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the Important Dates section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Also, it is your responsibility to take the necessary steps to support the successful completion of your program and to maintain a GPA consistent with the requirements of your plan. You may find the following strategies helpful:

· Choose courses carefully. Achieving a higher grade in a repeated course can improve your GPA and support your return to and maintenance of good academic standing.

· Reflect on your program choice. Consider whether your current plan aligns with your interests and strengths. Your Academic Advisement Report in SOLUS can help you track requirements and plan future courses.
