Dear Mr. Loberg:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PHIL 157 and PSYC 100B (W 2014) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I would like to note that this is now your second appeal based on the same extenuating circumstances. The appeals system is not designed to compensate for extenuating circumstances that are ongoing in nature for which the student is unable or unwilling to effectively manage or resolve. Therefore, any further appeals to the Faculty Office will be reviewed carefully and must demonstrate with documentation from a healthcare professional that you are actively seeking treatment for your illness and you are managing it in such a way that it will not continue to negatively affect your academics. Please ensure that you are seeking advice and guidance from an academic counsellor through the Faculty Office, monitor your progress carefully throughout the year and drop courses as needed within the academic deadlines.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
