Dear Mr. Li:

I have reviewed your request to complete the last 9.0 units of your B.A. (Honours) degree with a Major plan in Economics at the University of Toronto. As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that €œnormally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen€™s.€ However, given the circumstances explained in your letter of appeal, I agree to this request. Please consult with your department to ensure that the final ECON course (3.0 units) you need and have selected at your visiting university will properly fulfill the Queen€™s requirements for your degree. The additional 6.0 units you require are elective courses.

I would remind you to review the Academic Regulation 14 governing the taking of courses at other educational institutions. In particular, note that before you take these courses you must submit a Letter of Permission application to ensure that the courses requested will count at Queen€™s. If you have questions about this, please consult with Karen McBride at mcbridek@queensu.ca.

Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science Office by 15 May to be considered for graduation at Spring Convocation, or by 15 October for Fall Convocation. Finally, please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
