Decision Date: January 22, 2016

Dear Ms. Ehinlaiye:

I have carefully considered your request to have your appeal heard after the 21-day timeline for submission, and have decided, based on the circumstances you refer to in your letter of appeal, to waive the timeline. You may now proceed with your planned appeal.

It appears that you intend to appeal for Credit standing in two courses from Fall term 2014 to raise your ECON Plan GPA. I would like to point out that this appeal makes reference to problems that took place in 2013/14 with supporting documentation confirming this timeline only. There is nothing in this appeal that makes reference to the 2014/15 academic year or these two courses in particular. In order for any subsequent appeal to be successful, there must be extenuating circumstances that pertained to the timeline in which the courses took place as well as some supporting documentation to confirm the timeline, severity and impact that these circumstances had on the courses in question.

Please access on the on-line appeals system at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/help/academic-appeals/online-appeal-submission After you enter your NetID and password you will now have a new appeal option called €œSubmit a Late Appeal€. Choose this option and follow the steps. Your appeal letter should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning these particular courses, and include any relevant supporting documentation that wasn€™t included with your prior appeal. There will not be a fee for this new appeal, as it will be considered an amendment to your 21-day deadline appeal so the system will skip over the payment step.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Faculty Office for advice or assistance.

Sincerely,

Sue Blake
