I have carefully considered your request to have your appeal heard after the 21-day timeline for submission, and have decided, based on the circumstances you refer to in your letter of appeal, to waive the timeline. You may now proceed with your planned appeal to drop STAT 263 (W 2015) past the academic deadline.
I would like to note that this is a lenient decision as you waited seven months after receiving notification of your academic standing from David Youssef, in the Distance Studies Office to ask for help. Your late appeal requesting to drop STAT 263 will require an explanation of the extenuating circumstances that caused you to fail this course as well as some supporting documentation to confirm the timeline and severity of these circumstances as well as what specific impact they had on your ability to successfully complete the course.
Please access on the on-line appeals system at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/help/academic-appeals/online-appeal-submission After you enter your NetID and password you will now have a new appeal option called €œSubmit a Late Appeal€. Choose this option and follow the steps. Your appeal letter should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning these particular courses, and include any relevant supporting documentation that wasn€™t included with your prior appeal. There will not be a fee for this new appeal, as it will be considered an amendment to your 21-day deadline appeal so the system will skip over the payment step.
