I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for a Minimum of Three Years. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. You may now resume your studies at Queen's University.
In order to reactivate your student file, you must complete a €œReturn to Studies€ form: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/sites/default/files/return_to_studies.pdf and return it to our office as soon as possible. Please ensure you indicate your desired degree program and plan (concentration). Once our office has received departmental approval of your degree plan, your file will be reactivated. For information on registration and course selection, please see: www.queensu.ca/artsci and click on €œStudents@Queen€™s€. For information on tuition payment and accessing SOLUS (Queen's new on-line student system), please see: www.queensu.ca/registrar or contact the Registrar's office at (613) 533-2040. As you might be aware, the academic regulations and grading system changed at Queen€™s in 2012. Under the old academic regulations your average on passed courses is 66.7. Therefore, under the new academic regulations you will need to maintain a GPA of at least 1.60 on all courses that you take from this point forward to be eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts General Degree (an average grade of C/C- on courses). Your current academic advisement report indicates that you require 15.0 units (5 half credit courses under the old system) in elective courses to graduate with your Bachelor of Arts (general) degree in Political Studies.

As part of your return to studies, you may wish to seek academic counselling from an advisor in the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Services office to go over your Program Requirements as well. Appointments can be made by dropping in to our office (Main Floor Dunning Hall) or by phoning 533-2470. You may also wish to contact your Department of concentration for advice on the successful completion of your academic program. The Learning Commons in Stauffer Library provides a range of services, including workshops designed to improve study skills and develop strategies for meeting the demands of academic life. Student Wellness Services located in the LaSalle Building at 146 Stuart Street also offers personal and academic counselling free of charge to all Queen's students as well as individual consultation to aid in coping with difficulties of a more personal nature.
I hope that you will take advantage of the support services available to you at Queen's. In returning to a regular course of study it is your responsibility to choose courses carefully, seek out the advice necessary to improve your academic performance, and maintain a GPA consistent with the requirements for successful completion of your plan.
