I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CLST 201 (W 2014) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I would like to note that I am granting this appeal with reservations. The documentation supporting this appeal is weak: prescription forms are not of value to a non-expert in determining the severity or impact of your extenuating circumstances on your academic studies. The letter from Dr. Khanna likewise gives no insight into the time period over which your illness has impacted your studies, or the plans you have in place for resolving or managing any ongoing personal challenges. Finally, I would note that your academic plan is very weak. You have not yet taken any courses in German or Psychology, and therefore there is no indication of your interest or aptitude in either subject.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
