Dear Ms. Peters:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HIST 260 (S 2016) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I would like to note that this is a lenient decision. Your previous appeal from April 2015 was granted with the warning to watch drop deadlines and drop courses within them. It appears that you made the decision to remain in this course despite the long working hours associated with your summer job which would normally not be considered as a circumstance beyond your personal control. However, I am sympathetic to your situation of losing team members, a situation that is beyond your control, despite not having any supporting documentation to confirm this.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page.
