Course: STAT 263
Term: Fall

Category: Add a course after the academic deadline
Instructor: Charles Molson

Dear Ms. Chang:

I have carefully considered your appeal to add STAT 263 (F 2016) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I unfortunately must deny your request.

While I understand the reasons why you want to take STAT 263 this term, I cannot accommodate your request because the course is full. We cannot over-enrol courses, even in cases where the student needs the course as a prerequisite for further courses. I would suggest that you continue to monitor space in STAT 263 for the winter term and join the waitlist, if possible. If you are able to secure a space for the winter term, you could perhaps seek permission from the Economics Department to take STAT 263 and ECON 351 concurrently.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent. Guidelines for appealing to the Board of Studies and the appeal form can be found at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/students-at-queens/academic-appeals (click on €œBoard of Studies€) Do not use the on-line application for this process. You may contact Mr. Harry Smith, Office of the Ombudsman for advice on matters of procedure and on obtaining a representative. His office is located in room 421 Robert Sutherland Hall and he can be reached by phone (533-6495) or e-mail (ombuds@queensu.ca).

Sincerely,

Sue Blake
Assistant Dean (Studies)
