Dear Ms. Williams:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ENGL 258, GRMN 101 (F 2015) and FILM 260 (S 2016) past the academic deadline as well as receive Aegrotat standing in ENGL 273 (W 2016) and remove the late penalties from HIST 209 (W 2016). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

We have consulted with Professor MacFarlane and he has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed for ENGL 273 which will appear on your transcript as B- along with the notation €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€.

We have also consulted with Professor Aivalis and reviewed your overall academic performance in HIST 209, taking your extenuating circumstances into consideration. Professor Aivalis agreed that you have ultimately acquired enough mastery of HIST 209 to earn Credit for the course but even with waiving the late penalties it is not possible to calculate a final grade with any degree of accuracy. Therefore, we both feel that assigning the final grade of CR (Credit standing) is the most appropriate option. A CR grade will allow you to earn credit for HIST 209 and it will not affect your GPA. This is the notation that will appear on your transcript.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
