Ms. Annabel Irwin
Dear Ms. Irwin:
I have reviewed your request to complete the winter term of (third year) of your B.A. (Honours) degree with a Major plan in Life Sciences at the University of British Columbia. As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that €œnormally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen€™s.€ However, given the circumstances explained in your letter of appeal, and Dr. Kawaja€™s support, I agree to this request. Please consult with your department regularly to ensure that the courses you select at your visiting university will properly fulfill the Queen€™s requirements for your degree.
Your application for the letter of permission has been received and it will now be processed. You can expect to receive it in approximately 3 weeks.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science Office by 15 May to be considered for graduation at Spring Convocation, or by 15 October for Fall Convocation. Finally, please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
I wish you well in the remainder of your studies at Queen€™s, in your studies at UBC, and in your future undertakings.
Yours sincerely,
Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
