Dear Ms. Jalali:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ENGL 259 (F 2016) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I would like to point out that this is a lenient decision. It was your personal choice to enrol in this course, despite your busy work schedule and while I understand that your grandfather became ill in November, students are expected to notify their instructors of any extenuating circumstances as soon as possible and arrange extensions of any work due. Extensions may be granted up to one full term.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
