Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Decision Letter

Appeal Number: 3403
Decision Date: May 11, 2017
Associate Dean: Sue Blake
Student Name: Jamie Sapera
Student Email: 8jrs@queensu.ca

Dear Ms. Sapera:

I have carefully considered your request to have your appeal heard after the 21-day timeline for submission, and have decided, based on the circumstances you refer to in your letter of appeal, to waive the timeline. You may now proceed with your planned appeal to drop GEOL 543 past the academic deadline.

Please access on the on-line appeals system at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/help/academic-appeals/online-appeal-submission After you enter your NetID and password you will now have a new appeal option called €œSubmit a Late Appeal€. Choose this option and follow the steps. Your appeal letter should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning this particular course, including an explanation as to why only this course in particular was affected by your circumstances. You must also include some supporting documentation that addresses the severity of your condition during the time you took GEOL 543 and the specific impact that your condition had on your academic performance in this course.

There will not be a fee for this new appeal, as it will be considered an amendment to your 21-day deadline appeal so the system will skip over the payment step.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Faculty Office for advice or assistance.

Sincerely,

Sue Blake
Assistant Dean (Studies)
