Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Mr. Shin:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 426 and PHYS P20 (W 2017) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I would strongly recommend that in the future you make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning drop deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's. This is the third appeal granted based on essentially the same circumstances. Further appeals will be reviewed very carefully to discern the reason for not dropping by the drop deadline when you run into academic difficulty.
Yonghun, you only need 3.0 elective units and to keep your cumulative GPA above 1.60 to be eligible to graduate. I would suggest that you only enroll in one courses next term to him you the best chance at completing your course successfully.
Yours sincerely,
Sue Blake
