I have carefully considered your appeal to receive an extension of your incomplete grade in STAT 263 (W 2017). After reviewing your file I have decided to deny your request.
Your appeal demonstrates that you have a serious and ongoing health concern but there is no documentation supplied of any acute problem that prevented you from writing the STAT 263 deferred exam. It also appears from your file and transcript that you have used the appeal system last fall to drop courses past the academic deadline. The appeal system is not designed to compensate for circumstances that are ongoing in nature for which the student is unable or unwilling to effectively resolve or manage. Students with chronic and ongoing circumstances must manage their academic responsibilities carefully by enrolling in a course load that takes these circumstances realistically into account, monitoring their progress carefully, making decisions proactively and dropping courses as needed within the academic deadlines. Without any documented extenuating circumstances that caused you to miss your deferred exam in this course, I cannot reasonably grant your request.
I see that you are in a fairly heavy course load for the fall term. I would strongly recommend that you register with the Accessibility Services office if you have not done so already to ensure that you receive the academic accommodations you need moving forward.
