Dear Ms. Flather:
I have carefully considered your request to have your appeal heard after the one term timeline for submission, and have decided, based on the circumstances you refer to in your letter of appeal, to waive the timeline. You may now proceed with your planned appeal to drop HLTH 230 and PSYC 235 past the academic deadline.
Please access on the on-line appeals system at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/help/academic-appeals/online-appeal-submission After you enter your NetID and password you will now have a new appeal option called €œSubmit a Late Appeal€. Choose this option and follow the steps. Your appeal letter should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning these particular courses and why you were unable to drop them by the drop deadline. You must also include some documentation from your healthcare provider that confirms the timeline of your health condition (when the symptoms began), how severe the health condition was in Summer 2014 and what specific impact this condition had on your studies at the time you took these classes. There will not be a fee for this new appeal, as it will be considered an amendment to your one-term deadline appeal so the system will skip over the payment step.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Faculty Office for advice or assistance.
Sincerely,
Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
