Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 4141
Decision Date: February 20, 2018
Associate Dean: Johanne Benard, Ph.D.
Student Name: Noah Zelikovitz
Student Email: 15nz8@queensu.ca
Course: MATH 280
Term: Fall
Year: 2017
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Mr. Zelikovitz:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop MATH 280 (F 2017) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.
I would also like to point out that you have exceeded the 6.0 unit maximum of non Arts & Science courses that can count towards your Arts & Science degree. As you can see from information on the following web site, https://www.queensu.ca/artsci/sites/default/files/courses_of_instruction_in_other_faculties_and_schools.pdf, you are only permitted to count 6.0 units of courses from another Faculty towards your Arts & Science degree. You currently have 9.0 units (COMM 200, LAW 201 and LAW 204). If you wish to seek clarification on this matter, you may want to make an appointment with an Academic Advisor and can do so by calling the Faculty of Arts & Science office at 613-533-2470.
Yours sincerely,
Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
