Dear Ms. Sandrin,

I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in HLTH 230 and ANAT 315 (Fall 2017) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grades in these courses will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but if your circumstances persist, I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. Instead, students should register with QSAS and work with an accommodation advisor to manage their academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.

Sincerely,

Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
