I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GRMN 101 (F 2017) past the academic deadline and receive Aegrotat standing in DEVS 230 (F 2017). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grade in DEVS 230 will appear on your transcript as C- with the notation €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade.€

I would like to point out that this is a lenient decision on my part. While there do appear to be some significant extenuating circumstances, the letter supplied by Dr. Stewart does not adequately confirm the exact timeline and severity of your health issues over the fall term, not does it confirm the specific impact that your condition had on these courses in particular. For any future appeal to be successful, this information will be required. I would also like to caution you that the appeals system is not designed to manage circumstances that are ongoing in nature. For the next academic year I would strongly advise you to register with Queen€™s Accessibility Services to ensure that you receive the academic accommodations you require. You must also take the responsibility of monitoring your condition carefully and making decisions to drop courses within the academic deadlines if you find that you are not able to comfortably keep up with the demands of a course.
